Paul Shinn

Paul Shinn is a 20 year-old jazz pianist born in Mainz , Germany and raised in Kansas City . He began taking classical piano lessons at the age of 7, and after garnering several classical piano competitive awards in high school, discovered the calling of jazz music. Paul now studies at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music, where he has had the opportunity of studying with the likes of Rich Hill, Roger Wilder, Eric Griffin, and Bram Wijnands. Here he has experienced tremendous growth as a player as well receiving many opportunities to perform outside of school. Among others, Paul performs regularly with Miguel DeLeon's “Mambo” Orchestra, the Moon City Big Band, and the New Vintage Big Band. He has had the opportunity to play with Queen Bey, Al Pearson, and Makuza. Paul also teaches private lessons and holds accompaniment positions at two local churches.
